Stella

Hotel Stella · Quadrilatero · 2022

A small hotel in the old Roman grid of the Quadrilatero wanted the sign every traveller looks for, and nothing else. We added a star, for the name.

1. (a.)

   The star is bent from a single tube without a break: ten corners, each heated and turned by hand.

2. (b.)

   Brick walls hold heat and damp; the housings are sealed and the electrodes sit behind the wall.

3. (c.)

   The letters are spaced wider than type would be, so the halos don't merge from a distance.
