Lucciola means firefly. The owners wanted the street to know, from the corner of Via Madama Cristina, that the lights stay on late. Two lines of script, one of them a promise.

    The two lines are two separate tubes, each with its own pair of electrodes, so a failing line never takes the other one down.

  2. (b.)

    Where the script has to jump between words, the glass keeps running and the jump is painted out in black by hand — look at the gap before “fino”.

  3. (c.)

    Mounted on six glass standoffs, 4 cm from the tiles, so the light has room to spill onto the wall.
