First run — the Aurora marquee

Cinema Aurora · Vanchiglia · 2023

A 1950s single-screen cinema reopened with its original marquee frame and nothing inside it. We bent six capitals and an arrow that points at the door.

  1. (a.)

Capitals in 15 mm glass: the thickest tube we bend, readable from the far end of the street.

  2. (b.)

The arrow is its own circuit, on a separate transformer, so it can be switched with the evening shows.

  3. (c.)

The marquee bulbs are the cinema's own; we only rewired the frame.
