Arashi, “storm”, wrapped on a pole

Free UK delivery over £60. Returns within 30 days.

Tamsin wraps each towel on the slant round a length of drainpipe, winds thread up and down it and pushes the cloth down into tight pleats. Then it goes into the vat on the pipe.

Arashi means storm. The thread leaves the fine white lines; the pleats leave the softer streaks between them.

Arashi, “storm”, wrapped on a pole. The cloth is wrapped on the diagonal round a pole, bound with thread and pushed down into pleats. The lines always run on the slant, like driving rain.

Lovely towel. The Pale is paler than it looked on my phone, so check the close-up photo. I’d buy Mid next time.

The lines really do look like rain. First wash: a bit of blue came out, as the card said it would. None since.
