Finding the yard

Tenter Yard is a stone yard off Highgate, the main street through the south of Kendal town centre.

Look for our sign at the archway between the shops; we're the second door on the left, on the ground floor.

Parking

Pay-and-display car parks in the town centre are a few minutes' walk away. There is no general parking in the yard.

  • Kendal station is on the Windermere line, a walk across the town centre.
  • Kendal bus station is a short walk from the yard.
  • There's a bike rack in the yard.

Access

  • Step-free from the street to the treatment rooms
  • Ground-floor rooms, wide doors, an accessible toilet
  • Two blue badge spaces in the yard (ring ahead and we'll keep one free)
  • Treatment plinths lower to wheelchair height

KendalThe town

Kendal's centre grew up round its high street, with narrow alleys off either side that locals call yards. We're in one of them.

The town is on the edge of the Lake District, eight miles from Windermere, which is why so many of the people we see walk and run on the fells.
