The Oak
The Oak occupies a 17th-century townhouse in the old town of Sibiu. The brief was a small hotel that felt like a private house. We kept the vaulted ground floor for the restaurant and gave each of the eleven rooms its own plan.
Original brick vaults and timber beams were cleaned and left exposed. New elements, from the reception desk to the bathroom vanities, are in solid oak from the region, finished with natural oil.
