Casa M
Casa M began as a 1970s villa with small rooms and a garden nobody used. We removed two walls, dropped the kitchen floor to the garden level and ran one honed limestone floor through the whole ground plan.
The palette is deliberately short: limestone, oiled oak, lime-washed walls and unbleached linen. Every piece of joinery, from the kitchen island to the bedroom wardrobes, was drawn by the studio and made by a workshop in Buzău.
The plan
21 June, 19:30 — evening sun from the north-west, across the garden glazing. Sun computed for the site's latitude; drawings by the studio.
Oak shelving is recessed into the plaster so the wall reads as one surface.
