Apartment 27
The apartment sits under the roof of an interwar building on a quiet street near Cișmigiu. The original oak parquet was lifted, restored and relaid in a wider pattern that suits the new open plan.
The clients own a large collection of studio ceramics. Rather than a display cabinet we designed a long plastered ledge that runs the length of the living room, so the collection can change with the seasons.
The plan
21 March, 17:00 — the west window reaches the ledge. Sun computed for the site's latitude; drawings by the studio.
Linen curtains are hung from a concealed track in the ceiling to keep the window wall uninterrupted.
