Down theSteps
St Stephen Street curves down into Stockbridge from St Stephen’s Church. We’re at number 23, in the basement: six steps down from the pavement, with a lamp by the door that’s lit from sunset.
Circus Lane, the cobbled mews that runs alongside, is the prettier way round. The steps are steep; if you need step-free access, call ahead and we’ll open the side door from the lane.

Can I just walk in?
Yes. The twelve seats at the counter are never booked; they go to whoever comes down the steps first. Tables are for bookings.
How many can you seat together?
Up to eight at one table. For nine to sixteen, the back room is yours; ask about it in the request.
Can you cook for allergies and diets?
Most dishes can be adjusted. Tell us in the request and Fergus will plan for it. Every dish’s allergens are on a card at the counter.
Children? Dogs?
Children are welcome until 20:00. Dogs are welcome at the counter.
What happens after I send a request?
We reply by text or email within two hours while we’re open, and the next morning if it’s late. The table is yours once we’ve confirmed.
