A wine bar with a kitchen, six steps down on St Stephen Street in Stockbridge. We light the lamps at sunset: at sunset tonight.
Why Leerie
Named after aLamplighter
“For we are very lucky, with a lamp before the door,
And Leerie stops to light it as he lights so many more;”
Stevenson grew up on Heriot Row, up the hill from here, and gave its lamplighter a name in a poem. We kept the name and the habit: the lamps go on at sunset, whatever time that is, and go off when the last table leaves.
