In the calendar

Worth timing a stay for.

Getting here

Train, ferry, island road.

  1. Train to Oban

The West Highland Line runs from Glasgow to Oban. The station is next to the ferry terminal.

  2. Ferry to Craignure

CalMac sails Oban to Craignure up to 10 times a day in summer, 3 to 5 in winter. Book a car space ahead in summer.

  3. 22 miles up the island

Craignure to Tobermory is 22 miles (35 km). Buses run from Craignure, or drive.

  4. Or from the north

The CalMac ferry from Kilchoan, on Ardnamurchan, lands in Tobermory itself, a few minutes from our door.

Staying for the island?

Two nights is enough for Staffa and the lighthouse path; four lets you add Iona and Calgary Bay.
