The island
Staffa’s columns, puffins on Lunga, a white beach at Calgary: most of north Mull is a day out from the door.
Plan a day outFrom the guest book
We booked Coll for three nights and stayed five. You wake up to the bay through the gable window, and the bath at the end of a wet walk is worth the climb.
Ruth had our boots in the drying room before we had our coats off. The tattie scones alone are a reason to come back.
Our ferry was two hours late. Alasdair left the hall light on and a note with the key, and breakfast the next morning was worth the wait.
Ulva is small and right for two walkers. The packed lunches for the Staffa boat fed us all day.
Kippers at nine, puffins on Lunga by eleven. That is a good morning.
Warm, spotless and right on the harbour, with an armchair at the window for the boats going out. We have already asked for Calve again.
