What it is

Free-rein brief ("a website about anything you want"), assigned style family archetype G — illustrated storybook world. Must be stunning, detail-led, every effect recreated from the library's measured values, different from every earlier build. Subject (invented to suit the backbone): SALLOW is a (fictional) volunteer moth-recording group that runs a mercury-vapour light trap on a (fictional) lowland heath in Purbeck, Dorset, from March to November. Anyone can join a night: the lamp goes on at dusk, the moths settle in egg boxes inside the trap overnight, and at first light the group opens the boxes, names and counts every moth, sends the records on to the county moth recorder, and lets the moths go into cover. Goal: recruit (book a place at a moth night) and impress (the moths themselves are the art). Audience: curious walkers, families, naturalists. Traits: nocturnal, patient, exact, a little folkloric. Real-world facts in the copy must be true (species, flight months, trap practice, the 2024 dorsal-light study, the Peppered Moth). The group, the heath name and the people are fictional. Content: none supplied — all copy written here, all art drawn by the site's own engraving engine (no photographs). Constraints: Vite + vanilla JS + GSAP/ScrollTrigger + Lenis; MPA with 5 pages; tested on an old laptop with software GL, so the engine is CPU canvas and its plates are baked at build time from the same code (VASCA's rule: simulate live only what the visitor touches, bake what they watch).

This is the build's own brief, kept as it was written. SALLOW is a demonstration build: it is real, it runs, and it is not a client job.

Measured palette

Six colours sampled from the build itself, in the order they were found. They are listed because a palette is a decision, and decisions should be visible.
