ANDAMENTO
What it is
Free-rein brief ("a website about anything you want"), assigned archetype H — explorable stage (no-scroll world). Built unattended as round 1 of a build → test → rate loop. Goal: impress (award-level showpiece) while staying usable: the stage must hand the wheel back, every hotspot needs a visible resting state and a list twin, every place gets a real URL. Subject (invented, facts true): ANDAMENTO, a small mosaic workshop in a courtyard off Via di Roma in Ravenna (a short walk from Sant'Apollinare Nuovo). They cut smalti with the hammer and hardie (martellina and tagliolo), set walls in the Ravenna manner (gold ground, tesserae set at slight angles), run a week-long course, and take commissions. Andamento is the mosaicist's word for the course/flow of the rows of tesserae — the brand's name, the engine's maths and the site's navigation are the same idea. Audience: architects, collectors, course students, visitors to Ravenna. Content: all copy written here; all imagery drawn by the site's own tesserae engine (no photos).
This is the build's own brief, kept as it was written. ANDAMENTO is a demonstration build: it is real, it runs, and it is not a client job.
Measured palette
Six colours sampled from the build itself, in the order they were found. They are listed because a palette is a decision, and decisions should be visible.
