DRUM
What it is
: DRUM, a fictional risograph print studio and small press in Rotterdam. Riso's own material — one flat spot-colour ink per pass, overprints that multiply into new colours, halftone dots, misregistration, grainy soy ink on uncoated paper — is a poster colour-block language, so the subject can generate all of its own art in code.
This is the build's own brief, kept as it was written. DRUM is a demonstration build: it is real, it runs, and it is not a client job.
Measured palette
Six colours sampled from the build itself, in the order they were found. They are listed because a palette is a decision, and decisions should be visible.
