Overnight the moths crawled down into the egg trays inside the trap. Lift the trays one at a time, tap every moth to name it and add it to the sheet. When the tub is empty, let them go into the heather.

The list goes to the county moth recorder. The moths go into the long heather, out of sight of the birds.
The real one
is better
On a moth night the trap is full of moths you can hold on a fingertip, and there is always tea. Mornings start at first light; you are welcome for the lamp, the count, or both.
