BACKSIGHT
What it is
Free-rein build, assigned archetype J (field-survey instrument). Subject chosen with `subject_seeds.py` → Caving, narrowed to cave surveying. Brand (fictional): BACKSIGHT, a cave-survey drawing office in Clapham, North Yorkshire, under Ingleborough. It turns club survey data (tape, compass, clino, LRUD, sketches) into finished cave surveys, checks loop closures, comes underground to survey, and runs survey courses. Audience: club cavers and expedition teams with notebooks to draw up; curious visitors. Goal: explain what a survey is and get people to send their data. Pages: Home, Surveys, Method, Office (+404). Stack: Vite + vanilla JS, Lenis, WAAPI (GSAP only where useful). Facts: `RESEARCH.md`.
This is the build's own brief, kept as it was written. BACKSIGHT is a demonstration build: it is real, it runs, and it is not a client job.
Measured palette
Six colours sampled from the build itself, in the order they were found. They are listed because a palette is a decision, and decisions should be visible.
