The critic, round 2

Round 2 does fix the 2D flip. The motion_scroll strip shows the watch turning edge-on, so you see the case band, crown and lugs in perspective, then the caseback in three-quarter view. It now reads as a real object. The dial side (silver-grain dial, faceted batons, blued leaf hands, stitched strap) is close to product-render quality and sits well in moto-finance's hushed black. The movement side still looks like a CG toy, not a premium calibre. The blue screws are oversized glossy marbles. The bridges are flat grey plates with stripes. The balance is small and tucked at 4 o'clock, the train wheels are barely visible, and the exploded levels are pac-man-cut discs. The finishes macro and the bluing tray are also toy-like, with marble screws and pencil hands. So the owner's main request, "premium and actually represent a working mechanical watch", is only half met. Typography, palette restraint, section alternation and the footer match moto well. The site has no technical failures.

  • The 3D flip really turns: the edge-on frame shows the case thickness, crown and lugs, so the watch no longer reads as 2D (owner request, part 2, done)
  • The dial side is premium: silver-grain dial, applied batons, blued leaf hands, small seconds, padded stitched strap, soft studio light on a dark backdrop
  • The escapement close-up (gold balance with timing screws, blued hairspring, escape wheel, red pallet jewels) with the Real time / Slowed ×40 toggle and the step list, a real teaching moment

How it was madefree-rein subject: an independent watchmaking atelier in Besançon that makes one hand-finished calibre; one canvas movement engine (gear train, 4 Hz balance + breathing hairspring, lever escapement, Côtes de Genève, perlage, anglage, blued screws) draws every picture; the one accent is heat-blued steel; concentric-ring iris = loader/menu/route (united-carriers circle wipe); pinned watch → turns over → exploded calibre handoff (moto globe→card) with glass toasts; finishes list driving macro stage; atelier bluing scrub with true temper colours; scroll winds a power-reserve arc in the nav; 13 recipes in full, 19 ref images; no backdrop-filter/CSS masks (software-GL perf, see HANDOFF)
