From bucket
to doorstep

What happens between your order and their front door, at the bench behind the counter.

  1. A hand setting a stem of small white flowers into a glass jar in window light

    01. Conditioned

Every stem is cut at an angle and stood in deep water overnight before it goes into anything.

  2. Cupped hands holding a pink ranunculus

    02. Built in the hand

Hand-tied bouquets go round in a spiral, so the stems sit side by side and drink evenly, then we tie them where they cross.

  3. Red and white tulips wrapped in brown kraft paper

    03. Wrapped

Ivory tissue and the season's colour, then kraft, with a bag of water tied round the stems for the drive.

  4. Orange and purple tulips beside a handwritten card

    04. The card

Clare or Priya copies your message onto the card in ink, word for word, and tucks it in at the front.

When they
arrive

  1. 01.

Take the wrapping off, cut a centimetre off each stem at an angle and put them straight into water.

  2. 02.

Change the water every couple of days. Cut flowers keep drinking but have no roots to draw on.

  3. 03.

Keep them somewhere cool. Warmth opens them faster; cold makes them last longer.

  4. 04.

Not next to the fruit bowl. Ripe fruit gives off ethylene, and ethylene ages flowers.
