Bring the lantern you'll hang
A profile throws a narrow, hard-edged beam; a Fresnel or a PAR gives a softer wash. A filter looks different in each, so test it in the one you'll use. No lantern? Use one of ours.

Thursday evenings on King Street: four lanterns, a white wall and every filter we stock. £12 for two hours on a lamp.

Every swatch book on the shelf, by maker, line and number. Find the sample you like and we'll bring the sheet behind it to the lamp.

03
A saturated filter lets little light through but the colour is vivid; a pale one keeps the level up. Check both on the white wall and on a hand before you decide.

04
Tell us the frame size. We cut from full 20 × 24 in sheets while you pack up, and label each cut with the maker and number.

Visit
We're in the cellar at 14 King Street, a short walk along from the Theatre Royal, which has been playing since 30 May 1766: the oldest theatre in the English-speaking world still in continuous use.
