The critic, round 2

SALLOW sits close to ironhill: the same cream and forest page-turn palette, soft wide serif caps, slide mounts and a trail line. Its own engraving engine makes moth plates that would hold up next to the reference. The round-2 "What we do" rework is visible at 1440×900. The statement ends with the pen loop after "WRITE DOWN.", and slide A, slide B, the engraving and the copy sit in their own stage below it, joined by the trail line in reading order, so nothing covers the words any more. Still holding it back: that stage is cramped and small next to ironhill 02's airy scatter; the screenshots only show 1440 (the other sizes and the resize fix are claimed in DESIGN.md but not shown); the tray card covers the copy on the phone; and there is one hard failure, the plates filter chips overflowing on the phone.

  • The engraving engine: hand-tinted copperplate moths on foodplants, and night chapters flipped to white-line scraperboard, both read as real printed plates. This is the strongest thing on the site.
  • Ironhill teleprompter done properly: sage unread and forest read, scrubbed word by word (motion_scroll frames 9–12). The words stay single copies in every frame.
  • Round-2 lore scene at 1440: the statement is fully clear. The trail line leaves 'DOWN.' with a pen loop and threads slide A → slide B → engraving → copy, which gives the artefacts one order and their own space.

How it was madefree-rein subject: a volunteer moth-recording group running an MV light trap on a (fictional) Purbeck heath, 12 real species with true flight months and facts; one per-pixel engraving engine (copperplate lines swelling with tone, contour ink, off-register watercolour wash, laid paper; night polarity = white-line scraperboard) draws every picture: set moths on Harris-style foodplant plates, flight sprites, the night heath with sheet/MV lamp/Robinson trap, egg trays, the logomark; lab tuned 4 rounds + 3 scene rounds, all baked to WebP by scripts/bake.py; ironhill odometer loader + 3-layer skew tear = loader/route curtain (evolve destination label); live moths orbit the lamp by the 2024 dorsal-light rule; real sunset/moon for the heath in hero, next nights and the logged-night readouts; pinned teleprompter, 3D card-deal chapters, sticky night scene whose dawn frame is the same engraving flipped to day, ironhill deck + Explore disc, ruinart polaroid + scribble; hands-on morning check (lift egg trays, name + tally, release, PNG sheet) with only in-season species; Peppered typica↔carbonaria via ironhill's noisy wipe; footer moths perched on SALLOW; 13 recipes in full + 3 skimmed, 23 ref images
